Welcome to another random stuff! We are almost at the end
of the year. As we know there are lots of social issues we hear, find or
experience as long as 2019 but I pay attention a lot to the mental health issue
that frequently happens to lots of people these days.

Mental health issues such as depression, anxiety, stress,
schizophrenia often encountered on mass media. As I often find bad news about
people that attempted or even did a suicide due to depression. Besides
important, health is something crucial. Once we try to neglect this one, we
might not capable to enjoy our life. Health is not merely about physic but we
also have to consider our psychological/mental health because someone can be
said healthy if both physically and mentally (healthy) balance.
I hear a lot that young adult or millennial generation is susceptible to undergo psychological problem even earlier than it all, regardless
their race or religion. One can get mental health issues because of other
factors. It can be social media, relationship problems: family conflict,
financial problem, etc.
But because we live in a digital era, I will emphasize
more on digital media or social media which are more likely to tend to give
contribution toward mental illness. Some people cannot stand bullying that
thrown by people on social media through comments. And many feel stressed
because they find information too much and see other's stunning life on social
media.
If you heard the sad news about Choi Sulli, a K-pop idol
who was reported that she was died due to depression. In which case, what was
happened to Sulli was the case that tend to mental health issues that triggered
her to end her life. The mental health issue is not merely happening to the
famous but also ordinary people as if no discrimination, even the rich ones, no
matter they have religion/belief or not.
I don't mean to underestimate the people's capability to
overcome it before they decide to end their life. I am sure everybody has
life-problems but not so many can solve it and survive. If we are not capable
enough to overcome it, we will not be able to survive. Not a little number of
people who end their life because they feel they have not enough support and
empathy from people around when they are in a hard situation.
The worst is, I find lots of people tend to neglect when
there is someone who gets one of the mental health problems. When one tries to
tell her/his feeling or anything that makes him/her feeling bad they tend to
consider it as an 'overact' and exaggeration (in Indonesian well known as
'lebay/caper') as if what she/he do is seeking for attention because of
complaining too much. Just be careful, the same goes for you if you surrounded
by people who like judging!
I am sure everybody wants to be treated well including in
a difficult situation. Sometimes for people that have psychological problems,
what they want is just to be listened not judging, as s person they trust we
better just show our support and empathy, also validate their feeling to make
them a bit relieved.
But sadly, I have no clue how to prevent or overcome
mental health problem specifically, what I know is, we all as Muslim must be
know that Allah doesn't like people lose hope, despair or anything that lead to
having suicidal thinking. He wants us just be patient and pray to him.
Let me guess, not only Muslims but also people in other
religions are supposed to pray to their God. But if praying doesn't help you
enough yet, you can ask psychological experts such as psychologists or
psychiatrists for any other bits of help.
